Nobody pictures the marina when they picture the yacht — they're picturing the water, the skyline, the sandbar. But every charter Legend's Rentals arranges starts at a dock somewhere, and after enough trips, a few marinas keep coming up as the ones that just work.
Bayshore Landing, Coconut Grove
This is one of the departure points we use most for our Miami clients, and it's easy to see why once you've been. From here it's a straight shot to Biscayne Bay, Star Island, the Venetian Islands, Key Biscayne, and Haulover Sandbar. It also sits minutes from downtown and walking distance to Coconut Grove's restaurants and shops, so when a group wants to grab a bite before or after, we don't have to make it a production.
Haulover Park Marina, Miami Beach
Haulover sits right where the Intracoastal meets the open water near Haulover Inlet, which makes it our go-to recommendation when the sandbar is the whole point of the day. It's also close to Sunny Isles Beach, so we point clients staying up that way toward this one.
Miami Beach Marina
With around 400 slips and deep-water access with no fixed bridges to worry about, this is a marina we like for anything from a cruising day to a fishing trip to a straight-up social outing — and it keeps you close to South Beach if the night's not over when the boat gets back in.
Where Our Clients Actually End Up
Across all three marinas, the destinations we hear about most from clients afterward are Haulover Sandbar, Biscayne Bay, Star Island, Key Biscayne, Nixon Sandbar, and open water on the Atlantic side. Which one we recommend for your day usually comes down to where you're staying and what kind of day you're after — sandbar and people-watching, or quieter cruising.
Since we broker rather than own the boats, the departure marina depends on which vessel and captain we're lining up for you — our team confirms the exact pickup point with you directly as part of booking, so there's no guessing on the day. That's the value of going through Legend's Rentals instead of piecing it together yourself.
If you're coming from out of town, we'll usually suggest pairing the charter with an exotic car for the marina drive, or a villa nearby to base out of for the weekend — it's an easy way to make the logistics simple and the trip more memorable, and it's the kind of thing we set up every week.
